God “L” acting ten days after King Chan-Balum’s accession Jan. 20, 690 A.D. Images of god “L” connect him with the Maya “Otherworld” or Xibalba. He is always depicted as an aged god and is often seen smoking a cigar. It is said that he presided over the assemblage of gods at the time our present cosmos began.
